INTRODUCTION
(the following is the voiceover script for an animated short currently in production)
Once there was a community that lived in very difficult conditions.
The people were given help, but progress was slow.
Then someone noticed that the community had a lot of hidden resources just within its reach.
So the people were given the means to harvest those resources and soon the community became prosperous.
Now suppose those resources aren’t oil or minerals or spices, but something even more valuable – ideas!
After all, people of underserved communities have always survived by making the best out of what little they have and by fixing things that privileged communities might throw away.
What would happen if we all worked together to harvest their ideas and use their innovative ways of fixing things so they worked better for other people in their community and around the world?
And what would happen if this movement was driven by network of students in schools and Universities around the world?
That’s what the OurOwnIdeas.ca social network is committed to finding out.
